Shelton, CT - The Shelton Fire Department responded to a kitchen fire on Kneen Street, with Companies 1, 4, and 5 arriving to find light smoke coming from a three-family home.
Firefighters located a stove top fire in a first-floor unit that had already been extinguished by an occupant. Minor damage was noted to nearby cabinets and the wall. Crews managed remaining smoke conditions and ensured the safety of an elderly, non-ambulatory resident by isolating him during ventilation.
Echo Hose Ambulance evaluated both occupants on scene, with no transports required. The Fire Marshal’s Office investigated, and the home was deemed habitable.
