This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

WAYMART, PA — March 13th — At a second alarm structure fire in Preston Township, firefighters from the Waymart Volunteer Fire Company arrived to support the Northern Wayne Fire Company. Through the Wayne County mutual aid program, Waymart was asked for more personnel and an engine company. Eight firefighters from the department responded, helping companies that were already on the scene with support and suppression duties.

In order to provide coverage for local emergency calls, additional personnel stayed at the Waymart station while crews were dedicated to the situation. Second alarm responses help departments maintain safe operations and sufficient resources by bringing more equipment and personnel to working fires. Before the situation was under control, crews worked on the area for a while.
