At 9:12 pm on March 21, the Limerick Fire Department was dispatched to assist Station 37, New Hanover Fire Co, for a vehicle rescue on Swamp Pike in New Hanover Township. Reports stated that a vehicle was flipped over and into the guardrail with one occupant inside. Captain 51, Chief 51, Fire Police, and Rescue 51 responded. Deputy 37 confirmed with the county that there was entrapment. A pickup truck was flipped on the driver's side, settled between trees, and a heavily damaged guardrail. Crews from 37 and 51 arrived and quickly stabilized the vehicle before attempting to extricate the victim. The sunroof was broken, and the occupant exited with assistance, sustaining only a minor injury, before being turned over to EMS for evaluation. Crews cleared their equipment from the scene and swept dirt and debris from the road. Limerick crews were made available within the hour.
