YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, NY - In response to a reported water rescue on March 14th, firefighters from the Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid to the City of Peekskill. The department's Dive and Water Rescue Unit, Rescue 55, and Car 2531 were sent to help Peekskill workers.
On arrival, the car's occupant had already safely exited the vehicle after self-extricating from the water. Divers from Yorktown Heights stayed on scene to help a tow secure and remove the submerged car.
