Danielson FAST Crew Responds to Structure Fire in Moosup

DANIELSON, CT — March 9th — A reported structure fire in the Moosup neighborhood of Plainfield prompted the Danielson Fire Department to respond automatically. During the event, firefighter safety coverage was provided by FAST units from Danielson and South Killingly. Plainfield fire departments were on the scene and attempting to contain the fire when they arrived. The FAST teams were positioned close by, prepared to help inside personnel in the event that a firefighter was stuck or needed assistance leaving the structure.


In order to enhance firefighter safety and offer prompt aid when required, Rapid Intervention Teams are assigned to active fires. During structure fire reactions, automatic assistance across area departments guarantees the presence of extra personnel and specialized responsibilities. While suppression efforts continued and the fire was contained, crews stayed on the scene.
