WAUREGAN, CT — March 10th — A reported structure fire in the Moosup Fire Department's district prompted the Atwood Hose Fire Company to react as part of a first-alarm assignment. Companies that arrived first reported fire conditions and swiftly contained the main fire. After that, during overhaul operations, crews uncovered walls and ceilings and performed a primary search to look for hidden fire.
Heavy Tanker 196 was ready in case more water was required, and a crew from Engine/Tanker 196 helped with the overhaul. Central Village Fire Company Station 97, Plainfield Fire Co. #1, Oneco Fire Department, South Killingly Fire Department, Danielson Fire Department, and American Legion Ambulance provided mutual aid assistance.
