Oven Fire in Middle Hope Prompts Second Alarm Response

MIDDLE HOPE, NY – On April 4th at approximately 10:43 P.M., Middle Hope FD responded to a reported oven fire at 1102 Kayla Court. A first alarm was sounded, bringing Goodwill Engine and Cronomer Valley Ladder Car 2. Car 2 arrived on scene, made entry, and found smoke coming from the oven. Crews used dry chemical, which knocked down the bulk of the fire. Car 2 requested a second alarm. Firefighters used a handline to fully knock down the fire and checked for extension. Mutual aid included Goodwill, Winona Lake, Marlboro, Dan Leghorn, Plattekill, Air Guard, and Newburgh FD, which responded on the second alarm. Town of Newburgh EMS and Police were also on scene. Central Hudson was requested to secure power to the residence. A Town of Newburgh Fire Inspector was also called to the scene.
