NESCONSET, NY - The Nesconset Fire Department and Suffolk County Police responded to Route 347 & Southern Boulevard just before 9:30 P.M. on Monday, April 3rd, for a car vs. scooter. Emergency crews arrived to find a male with serious injuries after he was struck by a pickup truck while riding a scooter. He was transported via Nesconset Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and the roadway was closed for further investigation.
