Colchester, VT - On 2 Mar 2026 shortly after 16:30, Saint Michael’s Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to Winooski following reports of a fire showing from a single-story private residence. Engine 8 responded on the second alarm assignment with a crew of eight personnel, arriving on scene in under 58 seconds from the time of dispatch.

As the first arriving unit on the second alarm, the Engine 8 crew initiated an aggressive interior fire attack and conducted overhaul operations within the structure. SMR A2 operated as the standby unit throughout the incident, while A1 was staffed by off-duty Fire Rescue personnel and responded to multiple incidents in place of A2.

All units returned to service at Sutton Fire House shortly after 19:00.
