Basement Fire Contained in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, CT - On March 13th at approximately 9:00 P.M., South Fire crews were dispatched to 26 Wall Street following reports of a basement fire. South Fire responded with Engine 32 and Truck 34, with mutual aid from Middletown FD and Westfield FD to the scene.


Upon arrival, crews found a fire in the basement, which was quickly brought under control by Engine 32. The incident was contained to the basement, with smoke damage reported on the first floor.


The Red Cross was requested to assist a displaced family. Additionally, the Middletown City Government Health Department and Building Department responded to the scene.


Station coverage during the incident was provided by Middlefield Vol. Fire Co. and Westfield FD. South Fire FM30 is currently investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
