NORTH SCITUATE, RI - A structure fire on Old Quarry Road, March 5th, prompted the Chopmist Hill Volunteer Fire Department's Tanker 61 to provide mutual help to Glocester. When first responding companies arrived, they saw smoke coming from the roofline of a two-story wood-frame house that had an attic fire. Tanker 61's driver stayed with the equipment to help with a tanker shuttle operation that supplied water to workers at the building. Four firefighters helped with extinguishment and overhaul. After arriving, eight members worked on scene for almost two-and-a-half hours. Two members of the tanker crew stayed at the station and responded to a car accident at Route 102 and Route 6 while the rest of the crew was committed.
