Stamford Fire Investigates School Alarm Activation

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Stamford firemen arrived to the neighborhood primary school on March 30th at 11:48 a.m. after a fire alarm was activated. Crews arrived to investigate and discovered that the alarm was caused by a damaged pull station within the building.

After determining that there was no fire or hazard, firefighters checked that the structure was safe for inhabitants. School staff asked responding members to speak with students about the importance of fire alarm systems and the risks associated with tampering with them.

Firefighters explained that triggering or damaging pull stations without an emergency can lead to dangerous circumstances, interrupt school operations, and divert emergency services away from serious emergencies.

There were no injuries recorded. The fire alarm repair business was summoned to repair the damaged pull station and return the system to full operation.
