On March 27th, at 12:17 p.m., the Broome County Office of Emergency Services dispatched the Binghamton Fire Department to a dump truck fire on Route 17 West near the Mygatt Street exit.
Engine 4 arrived to find the dump truck completely engulfed in flames in both the engine and the cab compartment. The driver had exited the vehicle before the firefighters arrived and was uninjured. Crews swiftly stretched a hose line and put out the fire.
The Broome County Sheriff's Office, Binghamton Police Department, and the New York State Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control during the incident.
