Single-Vehicle Accident on Route 9 Draws Multiple Agencies

Stottville, NY - On 18th March around 9:30 p.m. Station 50, in coordination with Stockport Volunteer Fire Company #1, responded to a single-vehicle accident on State Route 9, just north of the Stockport Garage. Engine 5021, along with 5076, arrived on scene and gained access to the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Additional responding agencies included the New York State Police, Greenport Rescue Squad, the Fire Coordinator’s Office for Columbia County, NY, and the Columbia County Coroner’s Office. State Route 9 remained closed until approximately 11:30 p.m. to allow emergency operations and investigation.
This incident marked the third call within a 24-hour period for the Stottville and Stockport volunteer fire departments.
