Multiple Incidents Reported on I-91 Amid Slick Road Conditions

Newbury, VT - On 20th March 2026 at approximately 3:30 PM, Wells River Fire was dispatched to a reported utility pole fire.
While responding to a motor vehicle accident on I-91, crews encountered an additional vehicle that had slid off the roadway due to hazardous, slick conditions. Authorities were also notified of a third vehicle that had left the roadway along the same stretch of I-91.
Officials are urging motorists to exercise extreme caution when traveling this evening, as road conditions remain very slippery and may change rapidly. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, increase following distance, and prioritize safe arrival.
