ORISKANY FALLS, NY - A reported barn fire at 2525 Perry-Shumaker Road on March 9th prompted the Oriskany Falls Fire Department and many mutual aid agencies to respond.

Within six minutes, Engine 2 arrived and saw a big, roughly 130-by 80-foot agricultural and storage building with considerable smoke coming from its eaves and gable vents. Firefighters quickly put out the main body of fire after declaring a working fire and deploying a 1½-inch handline.

Other units helped with overhaul, suppression, and water supply. Vernon Center, Deansboro, Munnsville (FAST), Madison, Vernon, Clinton, Westmoreland, Clark Mills, and other county resources were among the mutual aid departments.
