March 27, 2026 — Alachua County Fire Rescue, alongside Gainesville Fire Rescue, responded shortly after 8:00 p.m. to reports of a wildland fire behind the Celebration Pointe parking garages. Upon arrival, crews encountered an active 1–2 acre fire burning through wooded terrain. Firefighters deployed brush trucks and utilized chainsaws to cut access paths, allowing hose lines to reach the seat of the fire. With coordinated efforts and assistance from the Florida Department of Forestry, crews successfully contained the blaze. No structures were threatened during the incident. Officials remind residents that a county-wide burn ban remains in effect and urge compliance to prevent similar incidents.
