March 10, 2026 — Starke Fire Rescue responded to a reported gas odor in the area of Myrtle Street and Lafayette Street near the Westmoreland Trailer Park. Engine 1 arrived on scene and determined that a fallen tree limb had damaged a gas meter, causing the odor. Crews investigated the situation and ensured the area was safe. Officials confirmed there was no fire and no injuries associated with the incident. The situation was handled promptly, preventing any further hazards to nearby residents.
