Early-Morning Structure Fire in Walden Draws Multi-Department Response

WALDEN, NY — Orange Lake Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on March 25th at approximately 6:43 A.M., at 3 Snider Avenue. Orange Lake Car 1 arrived on scene and radioed that there was smoke showing, and requested a second alarm, bringing Winona Lake, Newburgh, Plattekill, and Walden to the scene.
Firefighters deployed handlines and ground ladders while crews ventilated the roof. Additional departments assisted with overhaul operations and checked for fire extension.
Orange County Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-13 was on scene. Central Hudson was requested to respond to secure and shut off power. Town of Newburgh Police and EMS were also on scene, along with the Town of Newburgh Fire Inspector’s Office. The fire is currently under investigation.
Good Will Fire Department stood by at Winona Lake, while Coldenham stood by at Orange Lake.
