Long Beach Crews Handled Recycling Yard Fire Incident

LONG BEACH, N.Y. — 1st May — A garbage truck fire on Park Place, next to the city recycling yard, was reported to the City of Long Beach New York Fire Department, which is situated at 1 W Chester St. in Long Beach, NY, United States, 11561. Sanitation workers promptly discharged the truck's contents before firefighters arrived, according to officials, preventing damage to the vehicle itself. Engine 2343 crews extended a hose line and put out the flaming debris with help from a payloader operator.
As firemen tried to confine the fire and safeguard surrounding property, Engine 2344 and Ambulance 2322 also arrived on the site. No property damage or injuries were reported during the event, according to officials. Assistant Chiefs Ray and Reinhard oversaw operations.
