Newark, VT - Members of the Newark Fire Department carried out ice rescue training exercises this evening at Newark Pond as part of their ongoing emergency preparedness efforts. The training focused on responding to incidents involving individuals falling through unstable ice, a risk that becomes more significant as temperatures fluctuate.
Residents are advised to avoid walking or venturing onto ice surfaces and to keep a safe distance from the water’s edge to prevent accidents.
