MERRICK, NY — March 10th — The North Merrick Fire Department, located at 2095 Camp Avenue, Merrick, NY, USA, 11566, responded to a complaint of an overturned car that was trapped on the Southern State Parkway. When Chiefs 6700 and 6702 arrived, they verified that one individual was stuck inside a car that had crossed the roadway barrier and entered a forested area.

To get to the car and help with extrication, firefighters collaborated with officers of the Nassau County Police Department and the New York State Police. After being extracted from the car and given to emergency medical personnel, the stranded passenger was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. After that, workers cleansed the area of any risks and secured the car.
