ELMWOOD PARK, NJ - An Elmwood Park home was damaged by fire in the early morning hours of March 23rd. At 7:00 A.M., fire companies were dispatched to 205 Phillip Ave., on a reported house fire. As Chief Robert Bruce signed on air, a radio report of fire showing from the rear of the home was received. On arrival, he confirmed a working fire with a re-dispatch of the alarm confirming the fire. Heavy fire was venting out of a rear upper floor window. The heavy fire was knocked down in less than 30 minutes. There was severe damage to the top floor and a first floor bathroom, as well as a set-back roof and the ceiling. Mutual aid from Fair Lawn, Garfield, Saddle Brook and Clifton assisted. No injuries were reported.
