BALDWIN, NY — March 3rd — A report of smoke in a structure at 1158 Atlantic Avenue prompted the Baldwin Fire Department, located at 2386 Grand Ave., Baldwin, NY, USA, 11510. When units arrived, they checked the building for fire dangers and started looking into the source. In order to protect the building's residents and neighboring homes, firefighters worked to secure it. Smoke reports are taken seriously since they may point to a hidden fire, electrical fault, or heating equipment malfunction.

While the building was assessed and situations were brought under control, crews stayed on the scene. In order to give emergency units space to function throughout the response, drivers and residents were instructed to exercise caution and stay away from Atlantic Avenue. Until firefighters verified the facility was secure, operations went on.
