This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

Perth, NY — March 9th — A reported car fire on County Highway 158 in the Town of Perth prompted the Perth Volunteer Fire Company to react. Following reports of a burning car beside the road, firefighters were called in. As crews arrived on the site, the Broadalbin Volunteer Fire Company was also sent to offer mutual aid support.

Due to the existence of fuel systems, electrical components, and polymers that can cause extreme heat and smoke, vehicle fires are a frequent response for local departments and necessitate prompt action. Firefighters are trained to contain the fire while preserving road safety and safeguarding surrounding regions. Before units were put back into duty, crews tried to contain the fire and protect the area. There were no reported injuries.
