Apartment Blaze Displaces Residents in Catasauqua

CATASAUQUA, PA - A fire in a two-and-a-half story converted apartment building sent the Catasauqua FD, North Catasauqua FD, Medic 75 and Greenawalds Rescue 11 (RIT) to a working fire located at 729 Third St. on February 25th at around 11:27 A.M. The fire was on the first-floor with the possibility of 10 people trapped, but all were later accounted for. More manpower was requested and a second-alarm was transmitted. At one time during the fire, evacuation tones had to be activated. The fire was contained in about 30 minutes. Two families were made temporarily homeless, and one person was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
