Rear Porch Fire Extends to Second Floor at Ann Street Home

NEWBURGH, NY - Newburgh Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 375 Ann Street on the morning of March 11th at approximately 4:42 a.m. Units arrived to find a rear porch on fire, extending to the second floor.


A second alarm was sounded, bringing assistance from West Point, Beacon, Air Guard, New Windsor, and Orange Lake. Firefighters used hand lines to extinguish the fire, and power to the structure was secured.


After the fire was knocked down, crews began overhauling the porch. Orange County Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-14 was on scene, along with Empress EMS and the City of Newburgh Police Department.


The fire is under investigation.
