Mutual Aid Response to Swamp Road Fire in Hopewell

CANANDAIGUA, NY — March 5th — A number of Ontario County organizations coordinated a mutual assistance response when the Hopewell Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on Swamp Road. Seneca Castle Fire Company provided station coverage, and Canandaigua Professional Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 2098, Canandaigua Volunteer Fire Department, and Canandaigua Emergency Squad were asked for automatic mutual aid.


As more firefighters from the Clifton Springs Fire Department and the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department arrived, Hopewell Command requested a second alarm. The Shortsville and Crystal Beach fire departments were in charge of station coverage. The Ontario County Sheriff's Office and Ontario County Emergency Management provided additional assistance.
