(OCALA, FL.) March 13, 2023 – On Monday, March 13, at approximately 6:46 a.m., Ocala Fire Rescue's Engines 1 and 4, Rescue 1, Squad 7, Battalion Chief 11, and a Safety Officer were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with roll-over on I-75 Northbound, near exit 352.

Units arrived on scene to find a pick-up truck, upright, with significant front-end damage, and a tractor unit on its roof with a ruptured saddle tank and a passenger trapped inside. The tractor driver was ambulatory. Neither hazards nor patients were found in the pick-up truck.

Engine 1 and Squad 7 worked to stop the fuel leak from the driver's side saddle tank, while Rescue 1 and Engine 4 stabilized the tractor and prepared for extrication.

Squad 7 was reassigned to extricate the tractor's passenger with Engine 4; Engine 1 assisted.

Due to the nature of the incident, the passenger was extricated and trauma alerted to the hospital.

While on the scene, crews learned that the tractor was towing the pick-up truck, which broke free during the accident.

All I-75 NB lanes near exit 352 were closed for approximately three hours.

The state warning point was notified.

No other injuries were reported.

Marion County Fire Rescue and the Florida Highway Patrol also responded.
