Swamp Road Structure Fire Draws Multi-Department Response

Canandaigua, NY — March 5th — As part of an automatic mutual-aid assignment, Canandaigua VAFD firefighters responded to a reported structure fire on Swamp Road in the Town of Hopewell. Seneca Castle FC provided coverage while Canandaigua Professional Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 2098, Canandaigua VAFD, the Canandaigua Emergency Squad, and the Hopewell VFD provided units for the first dispatch.


Seneca Castle, the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department, and the Clifton Springs Fire Department were added to the second alarm that Hopewell Command requested upon arrival. For district coverage, the Shortsville Fire Department moved to Station 1 and the CBFD to Hopewell Station 2. The Town of Hopewell DPW, Ontario County Emergency Management, and the Ontario County Sheriff's Office all provided assistance. For the teams working at the scene, the Support Rehab Team at the station supplied food and beverages.
