Mutual Aid Partners Assist During Bainbridge Chimney Fire Call

BAINBRIDGE, NY — February 23rd — Bainbridge Fire/EMS, located at 22 W Main St., Bainbridge, NY, responded to a chimney fire that was reported within the department's district. Within minutes of their arrival, firefighters were able to limit the fire to the chimney and stop it from spreading to the rest of the building. The Chenango County Office of Emergency Services Ambulance 991, the New York State Department of Transportation, and Masonville Fire Department's Matt Jones all provided assistance at the incident.
The fire departments in Coventry, Afton, and Harpursville provided additional fire protection. In New York, agencies still frequently respond to chimney fires throughout the winter. Residents are nevertheless urged by fire officials to have their chimneys routinely inspected and cleaned.
