Saturday March 11th,2023 Wilkes Barre City Fire Dept was dispatched for a possible house fire. Once arrived on scene it was a confirmed working house fire with heavy smoke showing. Kingston Fire Dept was called in for their RIT team and 4 off duty Wilkes Barre fire fighters were also called in to help assist with manpower. Fire fighters battled this fire for 2 hours and during overhaul a family pet was found deceased from smoke inhalation. While they were still on scene another possible house fire was called in Wilkes Barre City. Once off duty personal arrived and investigated it was confirmed no fire and all other outside towns responding into the city were canceled.
