(OCALA, Fla.) March 9, 2023 - On Thursday, March 9, at approximately 5 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue responded to reports of an explosion with possible burns at Edo’s Japanese Steakhouse, 4414 SW College Rd. 

Engine 6, Rescue 4, and Battalion 11, were dispatched to the scene. 

Upon arrival, units were directed to the open grill area where extinguishing powder covered the ground and two burn victims were located. The crew assessed the patients injuries and prepared them for transport to Shands Hospital. 

No additional injuries were reported. 

The cause of the fire is unknown. 

The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
