Mutual Aid Responds to Structure Fire in Liberty

Liberty, NY — February 9th — A suspected building fire at a home on Denman Road prompted Liberty Fire Department firefighters to react. 911 dispatchers reported that a resident was still inside the house as units were responding. Youngsville First Assistant Chief Steve Schroeder and Liberty firefighter Shimon Abisch assisted in removing a mother and her children via a second-floor front window prior to the arrival of the first apparatus. Every resident was safely evacuated.
The Monticello Fire Department, Rock Hill Fire Department, Hurleyville Fire Department, Woodridge Fire Department, Fallsburg Fire Department, and other nearby agencies were among the mutual assistance departments from Sullivan County that responded with equipment and personnel. Catskill Hatzalah and Empress EMS supplied EMS standby.
