Greenlawn Fire Department Assists at Halesite Residential Structure Fire

Greenlawn, NY - On 18th February 2026 at approximately 8:14 PM, volunteers from the Greenlawn Fire Department were activated to provide a mutual aid engine to stand by for the Halesite Fire Department as they responded to a working residential structure fire.


Chief of Department Joseph Pace and Station 1 Rescue Engine 2-7-8, led by Hook & Ladder Captain Aaron Rombough, immediately responded to the call. While en route, Greenlawn units were redirected to the scene and assigned as an additional truck company.


Upon arrival, crews were deployed to the second floor, where they worked to open up and expose areas of active fire. Firefighters also assisted with fire suppression efforts and conducted overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.


All Greenlawn units operated under the command of Chief of Department Joseph Pace. Crews remained on scene for approximately one hour and thirty minutes. No injuries were reported.
