Cayuga Heights Assists at Lansing Apartment Fire

At 5:37 p.m. on February 19, the Cayuga Heights Fire Department received an immediate mutual assistance assignment to the Village of Lansing for a reported apartment fire. Quint 231 and Engines 203 and 202 responded to the incident.

Quint 231 arrived as the first suppression apparatus, and firefighters swiftly stretched a hoseline for fire attack while deploying an aerial ladder to aid in ventilation operations. CHFD firefighters collaborated with crews from the Lansing and Ithaca Fire Departments to aid with fire suppression, ventilation, and search operations. The fire was extinguished, and all Cayuga Heights units resumed service.
