February 27, 2026 — At approximately 6:30 p.m., the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corporation (CHVFC), Ravena Rescue, and Albany County Paramedics were dispatched to the area of 134 Bushendorf Road for a reported vehicle fire. Dispatch advised that both a vehicle and nearby trees were on fire.
Car 6-01 was the first fire unit enroute and received an update that the vehicle was fully involved and fuel had begun burning. Upon arrival, the officer confirmed a working vehicle fire and requested additional tones for manpower.
Rescue 6-10 and Engine 6-20 responded with crews. Firefighters deployed a handline and quickly brought the fire under control. Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours to cool down the vehicle, assist the tow company with cleanup, and wash down the roadway. No injuries were reported.
CHVFC units responding included Car 6-01, Rescue 6-10, and Engine 6-20. Mutual aid was provided by Ravena Rescue Squad, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office EMS Division, and the Town of Coeymans Police Department.
The department thanked its mutual aid partners for their assistance and reminded the community that volunteers are always welcome. Those interested in joining are encouraged to contact the department or stop by the firehouse on Tuesday nights during weekly drills.
