West Charlton Crews Respond to Route 147 Crash

On the night of February 12, the West Charlton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a two-car crash on Route 147 south of Western Avenue. A vehicle collided with and sheared off a telephone pole, leaving live electrical lines on the roadway. Fortunately, there were no injuries recorded. Firefighters remained on the site while utility technicians dealt with the emergency. According to officials, the incident was caused by a driver who was moving too fast for the road conditions during windy and snowy weather. The Harmony Corners and Charlton fire departments assisted with traffic management.
