ROOSEVELT, NY — February 27th — During the day, Roosevelt Fire District volunteers responded to two fires: a garage fire in the district and a second alarm in a neighboring community.

Crews responded in the morning and dispatched a 10-75 for a working garage fire, with aid from the Fairview and Pleasant Valley Fire Departments. Firefighters swiftly deployed a handline, extinguishing the fire and keeping it from spreading to an adjacent home.

Later in the evening, Roosevelt units assisted the West Clinton Fire Department on a second alarm at a private property. Crews responded to the scene and helped control the fire with a strategically placed handline, limiting structural damage.
