BEACON, NY — February 14th — Beacon Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 3490 responded to a vehicle fire near a home on Spring Valley Street. Engine 33-2 arrived on the site and reported an active car fire located about five feet from the house. Firefighters swiftly deployed a handline and extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to surrounding structures.

Crews then assessed the residence for possible fire extension and established that the fire had not spread to the building. The situation was resolved without causing any damage to the home, and units later cleared the site and returned to service.
