Deposit, NY — February 11th —Over the weekend, Deposit Fire Department members responded to a domestic fire alarm in the Town of Sanford.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered a 1,200-foot-long road that had not been cleared of snow, impeding their ability to approach the property fast. After traversing the snow-covered highway, firefighters worked to gain entry to the property and investigate the alarm. Officials stated that obstructed or uncleared driveways can severely reduce emergency response times, particularly during cold conditions. Even seasonal or vacant homes may experience emergencies such as alarms, electrical problems, or heating system malfunctions.
