On February 16, the Owasco Fire Department responded to an automatic fire alarm at Greenlinks Turn, which was later escalated to a structure fire.

Upon arrival, Car 1 discovered an active fire in the back of the house and requested automatic mutual aid from the Sennett, Aurelius, and Fleming Fire Departments. Crews swiftly deployed handlines, bringing the fire under control in about 15 minutes. While conducting overhaul operations, firefighters sought to prevent the fire from spreading further into the structure.

New York State Police and Cayuga County Fire Investigators also responded to help with the investigation and discover the cause of the fire. Officials said the synchronized reaction helped to quickly contain the fire and prevent more damage.
