Mutual Aid Supports Working Fire Response

The Swainsboro Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire about 2100 hours on February 21. Engine 4 arrived to find significant fire conditions and a collapse on the B side of the home. Crews launched an intensive fire attack, attempting to confine the event while protecting surrounding houses.

Incident Command requested mutual assistance from Dellwood Fire and Twin City Fire for extra personnel and water supply. Swainsboro's Engine 4, Tanker 1, and Engine 3 responded, as did Twin City's Tanker 20 and Dellwood's Engines 282 and 284. Emanuel EMS and the Emanuel County Sheriff's Office also provided assistance. Several volunteers arrived in personal vehicles to assist operations. The fire was mitigated in a timely manner, and all units returned to service at 0000 hours.
