Mastic FD responds to a reported house fire.

Mastic N.Y. – On the 21st of February the Mastic FD was activated for a report of a structure fire on Broadway near Clyde Rd. Chiefs Rudy Sunderman and Gene Martucci arrived on scene and had nothing showing from the exterior. They made contact with the residents who had reported smoke and a burning smell in the basement. Engines 5-12-1 & 5-12-2 responded in to the scene along with Ladder 5-12-14. Fire Police 80 was on scene along with Suffolk Police for traffic.
The Chiefs and Crews from 5-12-2 & 5-12-14 investigated the condition which was found to be isolated to the basement as no readings were discovered on the upper floors. Mastic Ambulance was also on scene. The condition was quickly mitigated and all units were placed back in service in less then 40 minutes.
