February 14, 2026 — Beacon Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 3490 responded to a reported vehicle fire dangerously close to a residence on Spring Valley Street. Assistant Chief 33-2 arrived on scene to find an active vehicle fire burning approximately five feet from the structure. Crews acted swiftly to bring the fire under control, preventing flames from extending to the nearby home. After knocking down the fire, firefighters conducted a thorough check for extension to ensure the residence had not been compromised. Thanks to the rapid response and coordinated efforts of personnel, the incident was contained without reported structural damage.
