Beacon Firefighters Honor Assistant Chief Dennis P. Lahey for 51 Years of Service

February 17, 2026 — Beacon Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 3490 recognized Assistant Chief Dennis P. Lahey (33-2) for his extraordinary 51 years of active volunteer service to the City of Beacon, including 27 years as a chief officer. Joining the fire service in 1975, Assistant Chief Lahey advanced through every rank within the department, serving as Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief of the Department. His five decades of leadership and dedication have left a lasting impact on both the department and the community it serves. Known for his steady presence at incidents—whether commanding operations or working alongside crews inside a structure—Lahey’s commitment has become a hallmark of reliability and service. Firefighters and city officials gathered to celebrate his lifetime of dedication, expressing gratitude for his unwavering support, mentorship, and leadership throughout the years.
