Burlington Fire Department Honors Retirement of Lieutenant Phil Luedee

February 12, 2026 — At 7:30 a.m. this morning, Lieutenant Phil Luedee completed his final shift with the Burlington Fire Department, concluding more than 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Burlington. First joining the department in 2001, Lt. Luedee spent much of his career serving as an officer at Station 3 in the city’s Hill Section, where he earned the respect and admiration of fellow firefighters and officers alike. Known for his strong work ethic, steady leadership, and positive attitude regardless of the time of day or nature of the call, Lt. Luedee set a lasting example for generations of BFD members. Department officials extended their heartfelt congratulations on his retirement and wished him well in the years ahead, joking that they hope he saves some fish for the rest of the fishing enthusiasts in the community.
