McRae-Helena Fire Reports 71 Calls in January

The McRae-Helena Fire Department has issued their January 2026 activity report, which includes 71 total calls for assistance. Medical assistance accounted for the majority of responses, with 40 calls. Throughout the month, crews responded to three structure fires, nine brush fires, and one equipment fire.

Other accidents included one car collision, one cooking fire, two gas leaks, two fire alarms, and three smoke investigations. Firefighters also helped with lift aids, landing zone operations, and a search for a missing person. One call was dispatched and then canceled. Officials indicated that 20 of the total replies happened outside of the city bounds, demonstrating the department's continuous support for surrounding areas.
