Donalsonville Fire Rescue responded to a reported home structure fire on North Friendship Avenue about 9:35 a.m. on February 26. When crews arrived, they discovered a heavily involved room with the contents on fire. Within 10 minutes of dispatch, firefighters advanced lines, conducted a primary search, and contained the fire in the room of origin.
The occupant escaped the home before firefighters arrived, and no injuries were recorded. Although the fire was contained, officials stated that majority of the structure suffered moderate heat and smoke damage. The cause is thought to be tied to an electrical outlet and is still being investigated. Seminole County Volunteer Fire Rescue, Survival Flight EMS, and the Donalsonville Police Department assisted on scene. Fire officials credited coordinated operations and strong mutual aid partnerships for the successful outcome. All units later returned to service.
