Ferrisburgh, VT - On 12th February 2026, The Ferrisburgh Fire Department hosted this year’s County HazMat Refresher Class, presented by the Addison County Fire Association (ACFA).

The refresher course is a mandatory annual training for individuals who have previously completed their initial Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification. The training serves to review and update current safety regulations, reinforce knowledge of hazardous materials, and ensure that emergency responders maintain the skills necessary to safely manage and mitigate hazardous material incidents.

Department members expressed appreciation for the opportunity to host this year’s class and extended their gratitude to ACFA for organizing and delivering this essential training for fire and emergency personnel throughout the county.
